Components of a force and forces in equilibrium



We looked at resultant forces back in Topic 2.  In this video, we will go on to look at what we mean by the components of a force, and how resolving a force into two (perpendicular) components can allow us to work out what its effect on an object will be.  We’ll be drawing a few (force) vector diagrams in this video, and will finish off by looking at what happens when the forces acting on an object are in equilibrium (balanced).
