Food Security and Sustainable Production

This Biology only video shares a synpotic theme with the ‘Pyramids of biomass and energy transfer’ video and explains how to mass produce or intensively farm food to feed the growing human population. However, most intensive farming practices are damaging ecosystems and although they provide enough food to feed us now, there may not be viable land to farm to feed future generations. As a result there are strategies in place to ensure our food stays secure and is therefore sustainable.
