Description

We’re all familiar with the fact that a magnet has a north pole and a south pole, and that any magnet will exert a force on another magnet.  In this video, we’ll look in more detail at how two magnets can interact with one another, the difference between permanent and induced magnets, and how a simple compass allows us to find our bearings.  We’ll then go on to look at the magnetic field that is created when an electric current flows through a straight piece of wire or a solenoid (coil of wire).
