Description

This topic finishes with some really big physics, which is based on some really small nuclei.  ‘Artificial’ (induced) nuclear fission of course traces its dark origin back to the Manhattan Project, but is used today for the generation of huge amounts of carbon-free electricity across the globe.  Nuclear fusion, meanwhile, is the process which allows the sun (and every star) to shine, and helpfully, is also responsible for the production of all of the elements (except hydrogen).
