Description
We already know that sound waves are longitudinal waves which can be transmitted through a medium (material). Ultrasound is sound which is above the maximum frequency of 20 kHz which humans can hear. In this video, we’ll discuss some of the medical and industrial applications of ultrasound. We’ll also carry out a few calculations which will help explain how ultrasound is used to provide information on structures which are hidden from view.
Please note that this is a higher tier-only video.
